Chairman's Message

I had been a student of Mahadev Desai Senior Secondary School (Affiliated to Haryana Board of School Education) in the year 1962 which was founded by my father Hon’ble Shri Jagdish Prasad Sharmaon 18thApril, 1947 in the sacred memory of Shri Mahadev Desai who died in jail during “QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT” on 15THAugust, 1942 serving as Secretary to Mahatma Gandhi for more than 25years.

I can never forget the contribution of my mother Smt. Chanderwati Devi who was also one of Founder Member of School Society/ Managing Committee. She stood solidly behind our Hon’ble Founder Shri Jagdish Prasad Sharma, looked after our big family of four brothers & three sisters right from 1940 & during his freedom struggle from college days & “QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT”  of 1942 & also from starting of Mahadev Desai School on 18thApril, 1947 in a deserted kothi in Lachhman Bagh, Faridabad, the then Distt. Gurgaon. At that time the whole area was like a jungle withdensely & closely planted very huge fruit trees of Mango, Jamun, Guava, Pomegranate, Kamrakh, Mulberry etc. in it & all the foursides were surrounded with agricultural fields of Village Daultabad, Ajronda, Old Faridabad Jamindars. My mother Smt. Chanderwati Devi ji worked vigorously alongwith my father for about 69 years till the afternoon of 29thJanuary, 2009. On that fateful day, I saw my father weeping bitterly like a small child , it was very difficult to console him & to control his emotions.

In1962, I was in class VI and at that time it was a Higher Secondary School under Punjab University. Our classes were held under the shades of mango trees on the lines of Shantiniketan of Guru Rabindernath Tagore. There were only 3-4 classrooms placed distantly in between fruit trees. During rainy days there were holidays for some of the classes due to shortage of classrooms. Now we havecomplete infrastructure in this school. This is one of the best schools of Haryana Board. It can be seen & compared with any ofthe Public School of Faridabad. It will be my mistake not to mention the name of Shri R N Koul, who was our school first Director from1992 to 1998, whose contribution to all round development of ourschool will always be remembered & appreciated.

In1993, Smt. Neelam Sharma joined as Principal of our Haryana Board School. I have no words to praise the efforts of Smt. Neelam Sharma who has been Principal for the last about 20 years and without her contribution our school would not have been what it is today. Under the able guidance of Smt. Neelam Sharma, all the staff members who are highly qualified and experienced are working very hard for theall round development of the school to make it a model school.

In1998, our Hon’ble Founder Shri Jagdish Prasad Sharma started Mahadev Desai Public School, which is affiliated to C.B.S.E. upto10+2 standard with Commerce & Non-Medical faculties. We have spacious, ventilated class rooms, fully equipped Biology, Chemistry,Physics, Maths, Computer laboratories & Big Library. Big hall for cultural activities & Indoor games, , Proper playgrounds for outdoor games like Cricket, football, Basketball,  Vollyball, Kho-Kho, Badminton etc. We are also providing coaching to the students for cricket & football in the evening under the guidance of expert coaches.

There were strict instructions from Hon’ble Founder Chairman to charge minimum of fees from students and provide them with the best of facilities & education to make them good citizens of our country. Time and again our Hon’ble Founder Chairman usually reminded me by saying, “FEES ITNI LENA KE SCHOOL KE KHARCHE CHAL JAYE AUR DEVELOPMENT BHI HO JAYE, MAINE VIDYA KA DAN DIYA HAI ISE KABHI BUSINESS MAT BANANA”, His words stills echoes in my mind.

Principal Smt. Neelam Dureja & every staff member are highly qualified, experienced & hard-working, providing very good board results every year.

We do not only emphasis on the percentage of marks instead we admit students with good temper, sincere, obedient, respectful behaviour. We admit the child even if he/she is not very good in studies as wellas not economically well off. Our hardworking Principal & other staff members polished them to make them bright students. Our fee structure is affordable for almost any class of the society.

We are very proud to say that large number of our old students are big Industrialists, Engineers, Doctors, Advocates, Educationists,Cricketer& Basketball player of national level, Executives, Businessmen, Politicians & some of our old students are alsoholding high positions in foreign countries.

Inthe profile of our Hon’ble Founder Chairman in school website wehave given Photos, letters, testimonials of many educationist & great personalities of India who visited our school which was hishistoric life long precious collections/achievements which we all will cherish throughout our life.

It shall be my endeavour as Chairman to follow the ideals of our Hon’bleFounder Shri Jagdish Prasad Sharma who left us for his heavenly abode on February 12, 2012 after remaining Head of our institutions from18.04.1947 to 12.02.2012 for almost 65 long years.

I had consulted English dictionary, newspapers & other sources to write about him to match his humane multifaceted personality, it took me many days to compile some lines in his memory to pay homage to our Hon’ble Founder.

To Our Hon’ble Founder – Shri Jagdish Prasad Sharma : (06.05.1920 –12.02.2012)
